Dr. Sahil 2 Bethesda!

Why did you want to become involved in physical therapy?
I’ve been lucky to have experienced some amazing physical therapists in my life, who helped me work through my own injuries. At a young age, I saw the power of this profession to help people in a very personal and meaningful way. I’m thankful to the PTs that have mentored me and modeled what leadership and empathy can look like as a PT.
What is your background?
After completing my B.S. in Biology-Physiology at the University of Washington (UW), I worked several years in the fitness industry as a personal trainer before boomeranging back to UW for my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. My background as a personal trainer prepared me to help athletes do more than just recover their pre-injury status – I leverage my experience to push their capabilities and performance to new heights. I spent my early PT career at Experience Momentum, a health and wellness company, where I gained invaluable mentorship and experience in sports medicine and orthopedics.
What is your specialty or niche when it comes to physical therapy?
I am well-versed in sports injuries and post surgical rehabilitation, especially ACL rehab. Under that large sports umbrella, I am most skilled at treating knee, foot/ankle, and shoulder injuries. Based on my personal and professional background, I connect strongly with runners, weightlifters & Crossfit athletes, skiers & snowboarders, golfers, and soccer & basketball athletes.
What are you most looking forward to in joining the Rehab 2 Perform team?
I’m thrilled to be joining an amazing team at R2P, demonstrating leadership and excellence on a local and national level. As a team-sport athlete, I’m looking forward to working with teammates who share my passion for this work, strive to push our profession forward, and will challenge me to be my best self.
What are your plans on trying to engage and connect with the community?
I find joy in teaching, and I’m looking forward to using this passion to connect and educate the R2P community. As a life-long Pacific Northwest snowboarder, I’m excited to put my personal and professional knowledge and energy toward forming relationships within that community and developing pre-season programs for these athletes.
