Building Strength for the Long Run

Some athletes train for speed. Others train for endurance. Natasha Ezerski trains for something even bigger: the ability to keep moving confidently through every stage of life.

Based in Bowie, Natasha balances triathlon training, cycling, running, strength work, and a full race calendar that includes the Annapolis 10-Miler, Baltimore 10-Miler, Springburst 10K, Sole of the City, and preparation for a future Half Ironman.

But beneath the miles and workouts is a much deeper perspective on movement, resilience, and sustainability.

A Journey Built Through Resilience

Natasha’s relationship with movement has been shaped through adversity as much as accomplishment. After three right knee surgeries, including reattachment of her quad muscle, along with right hip surgery, movement became something she never takes for granted.

That perspective influences how she trains today.

Every long run, long ride, and recovery walk with her dogs represents more than exercise. It reflects gratitude for what her body is capable of and a commitment to protecting that capability long term.

“BE > Yesterday means pursuing continuous, incremental growth by focusing on my own self-improvement rather than competing with others.”

That philosophy grounds everything she does. Training consistently. Accepting setbacks. Adapting. Getting back up. Improving a little each day.

Movement as a Foundation for Freedom

For Natasha, movement health extends far beyond performance metrics or race results. Strength, recovery, mobility, and longevity are interconnected pieces of a much larger goal.

She is not chasing maximum output at the expense of sustainability. She is training for independence, physical freedom, and long-term quality of life.

“Movement matters because it preserves my independence later in life and allows me to continue doing the things I love.”

That mindset creates balance in her training. Endurance and performance matter, but recovery, nutrition, sleep, and resilience matter just as much.

Training for More Than Race Day

Natasha’s race calendar is extensive, but her approach remains intentional. Long runs, long rides, and strength work are not simply preparation for the next event. They are part of building a body and mindset that can continue performing for years to come.

“Perform for Life means adapting an approach to health, fitness, and wellness that is sustainable and holistic.”

That idea shows up in both her training and daily life. She focuses on maintaining a high level of fitness while also protecting her body through recovery, mobility, and smart progression.

The goal is not simply to live longer. It is to live well.

Bringing Others Across the Finish Line

One of the most powerful parts of Natasha’s story happens outside of her own races.

Through Athletes Serving Athletes and Ainsley’s Angels, she helps athletes with disabilities experience the joy of racing by pushing them in joggers to the finish line.

The impact of those moments stays with her.

“The pure joy of the athletes and their family as they compete is beyond heartwarming.”

That perspective shifts what competition means. It becomes less about personal achievement and more about creating opportunities for others to experience movement, community, and accomplishment.

She also trains with Anne Arundel County She Runs This Town, where community, accountability, and encouragement are central to the experience. The group pushes each other through difficult days, celebrates wins together, and creates an environment where people continue to grow.

Sustainable Fitness That Lasts

Natasha’s advice for staying active long term reflects the same intentional mindset that shapes her training.

Build routines that are sustainable. Prioritize consistency over extremes. Focus on endurance, strength, balance, flexibility, sleep, nutrition, and the relationships that keep you grounded.

Long-term performance is not built through occasional intensity. It is built through daily habits repeated over time.

A Life Built Around Movement

There is personality woven throughout Natasha’s journey as well. Whether it is blasting “Heart of a Champion” before a workout, walking her dogs after a hard session, or maintaining obstacle course equipment in her backyard, movement is embedded into her lifestyle.

It is not something she checks off a list. It is part of who she is.

Through resilience, consistency, and service to others, Natasha represents what it means to pursue performance with purpose and sustainability.
