Kezia Oscar | DMV Athlete & R2P Ambassador

Rebuilding for What’s Next
There is a different level of focus that comes when you are working your way back to something you love. It sharpens how you train, how you think, and how you show up each day. For Kezia “the uniKOrn” Oscar, that process is not just about returning to the field. It is about coming back stronger, faster, and more prepared than before.
Training in Ashburn and DC, she is balancing two demanding goals. A return to women’s tackle football and preparation for her first HYROX competition. Both require strength, endurance, and a mindset built on discipline.

Built in the Trenches, On and Off the Field
Football is not a sport that allows you to hide. It demands physical presence, mental toughness, and a willingness to meet challenges head on. That carries directly into how Kezia trains.
Heavy lifting and trench work are at the core of her preparation. It is where strength is built, where confidence is reinforced, and where progress becomes tangible. Every session has purpose. Every rep contributes to the bigger picture.
There is no reliance on excessive equipment or distractions. In fact, she prefers to train barefoot, staying connected to the ground and fully engaged in each movement. It is a simple approach, but one that reflects focus and intention.
Progress Over Perfection, Every Day
“BE > Yesterday means showing up every day committed to becoming a better version of myself.”
That philosophy shapes everything. It removes the need for perfect conditions and replaces it with a commitment to steady progress. Some days feel strong. Others require pushing through resistance. Both matter.
Growth is not always obvious in the moment. But over time, small improvements compound. Strength builds. Confidence grows. The process works, as long as it is respected.

Movement Is the Foundation
After experiencing injury and recovery, Kezia’s perspective on movement shifted. It is no longer something to take for granted. It is the foundation that supports everything else.
Movement brings freedom. It creates confidence. It allows her to show up fully as an athlete and in every other role she holds. Strength, recovery, and mobility are not separate priorities. They work together.
Training hard is important, but training smart is what allows that effort to last. Listening to the body, staying consistent, and respecting recovery are all part of the equation.
Training for the Long Game
Performance is not limited to a single season or competition. It is something that is built over time and carried forward. For Kezia, that means preparing not just for the field or the next event, but for whatever comes next.
“Perform For Life means building a body and mindset that can handle anything life throws at me.”
That mindset creates resilience. It builds the ability to adapt, to push through challenges, and to stay grounded in the process. It is not about shortcuts. It is about sustainability.
Setting the Standard Around You
Leadership is not always loud, but it is always visible. Kezia leads by example, setting a standard through how she trains and how she carries herself.
She provides honest feedback, encourages growth, and pushes those around her to reach higher. Even on difficult days, she shows up with effort and energy, knowing that others are watching and drawing from that.
The goal is not just individual success. It is creating an environment where everyone rises together.
Starting Where You Are
Advice does not need to be complicated to be effective. Kezia keeps it simple.
“Just move. Don’t wait for the perfect time.”
Consistency matters more than intensity. Building habits that last creates real change. It is not about going all in for a short period. It is about showing up every day, in whatever way is possible, and continuing to move forward.
A Journey Built From the Ground Up
Kezia’s path into football did not come from early experience or familiarity. She started without knowing the game and built her understanding from the ground up.
That process shaped how she approaches everything. Learning, adapting, and improving over time. It reinforces the idea that progress is always possible, regardless of where you start.
