Mentorship Recap with Dr. Jones
Our mentorship at Rehab 2 Perform is built around monthly, small-group clinical conversations focused on leveling up our standard of care. Each session centers on a specific clinical topic, allowing us to align as a team, share applied clinical knowledge, and continually raise the bar for how we evaluate, treat, and progress our athletes. Beyond internal alignment, this mentorship is part of our commitment to leadership in the PT profession, staying current with the research and, just as importantly, excelling at implementing it in real-world settings.
What was covered recently:
- Level One: Focused on identifying red flags—key observations and clinical tests that may indicate the need for referral outside of physical therapy.
- Level Two (Knee Focus):
- Early-phase strategies to improve range of motion
- Decreasing arthrogenic muscle inhibition (AMI) and limiting excessive CNS contribution to movement
- Developing rate of force development (RFD), reactive strength index (RSI), and progressive, safe loading strategies
- Return-to-sport testing and progressions, including reactivity, exposure to chaotic environments, and gradually reducing cognitive load during movement
This mentorship reflects how we approach growth at R2P: evidence-informed, execution-focused, and centered on preparing clinicians to think, adapt, and lead at a high level.
