Seated Medicine Ball Chest Pass for Distance
The seated medicine ball chest pass for distance is a way of evaluating upper body power.
Set up requires that the subject is placed in a seated position with their back against the wall, and the medicine ball against the chest (6 lb for males, 4 lbs for females).
When ready, the subject will perform a chest pass movement to project the medicine ball as far as possible. The average of three trials is recorded. A benchmark to work toward is 5 yards.
This test can be performed as part of return to sport testing for throwing athletes or as a performance based measure in gym settings.
