R2P Partners with Mount St. Mary’s

EMMITSBURG, Md. – Mount St. Mary’s Department of Athletics announces a partnership with Rehab2Perform (R2P), a Washington, D.C. area-based company, beginning in April 2023.
Working alongside Head Athletic Trainer Mark Myers and the school’s staff of athletic trainers, the R2P team led by Founder/CEO Dr. Josh Funk and Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Zach Baker will provide services to the Mount’s roughly 600 member student-athlete population.
R2P has been a staple in the regional sports medicine community with a focus on sports rehabilitation, physical therapy, and concussion care at 8 locations throughout the DMV. In addition to its services, Rehab 2 Perform has a comprehensive professional development program, including a sports residency, which will be included as a part of the partnership between R2P and MSM.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Mount St. Mary’s to provide a best-in-class sports medicine experience for student-athletes. This partnership fits our mission of reducing the risk of re-injury and helping people perform at their highest level, including Division 1 athletics.” Dr. Funk said.
At the Mount, the initial outline of the partnership will be physical therapy on certain days of the week for the 2023 spring season, with educational opportunities involving the sports residency, support for on-field coverage and a more in-depth range of services offered for the 2023-24 academic year. Student-athletes seeking more information about R2P should consult the school’s athletic training staff.
“This program is a tremendous tool for sports medicine at Mount St. Mary’s.” Myers said. “As our student-athlete population grows, it helps to have top quality partners able to meet their needs and assist with our full-time staff. Dr. Funk and his team fit that bill.”
