Cold and flu season are upon us and with all of the holiday travel and events, we are exposed to more people which means more germs! The best way to have a strong and healthy immune system is to ensure you are sleeping 7-8 hours per night, exercising routinely and eating a well balanced diet, along with adding in some specific supplements.
Please remember that supplements will not undo the impact of poor sleep and diet on your immune system but instead they are meant to supplement a balanced routine. Vitamin C
Vitamin C with Flavonoids, 1000mg/day: Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that can also help reduce histamine levels which is why taking Vitamin C can help you recover a bit faster from the common cold. Vitamin C also help protect your tissues from excessive damage during infections.
Vitamin D
Vitamin D, 1000-2000IU/ day: Did you know a large majority of your immune system is found in your gut? Vitamin D is key to the health of the gut biome which directly impacts your body’s ability to fight off infections. The reduction in sunlight can cause many to become low in vitamin D so taking this vitamin daily is a best practice as the days become shorter.
Daily Greens
Daily Greens Plus, 1scope/ day: Daily Greens will also support your gut biome by giving your body both pre- and probiotics to help the flora flourish.
