Mask Update: A Message from Dr. Josh Funk

I am writing to notify you of the latest statewide mask order, set forth by Governor Hogan on July 29th, 2020. This mask order explicitly states that a face mask is required to be worn while obtaining health care services.

I hope that this note finds you and your family doing well during this unprecedented time in society. It certainly has been a difficult time, not only for myself, but for our entire team here at Rehab 2 Perform.

Throughout the past few months, we have been subject to a wide variety of guideline changes, restrictions, mandates, and orders, that have all affected the manner and landscape in which we typically provide our services. This has been particularly challenging with the differences in policy between counties as we have two locations in Montgomery County, one in Frederick County, and one that is split between four counties.

I am writing to notify you of the latest statewide mask order, set forth by Governor Hogan on July 29th, 2020. This mask order explicitly states that a face mask is required to be worn while obtaining health care services. This can be found on page 9 of the document found HERE

This means that your face mask is to be worn for the entire duration of your session. This includes the following:

  • As you enter the facility and wait for your appointment
  • Situations where you can and cannot physically distance within the facility
  • When you are on a treatment table or within the facility, and your physical therapist is working with you
  • Times where you are not under direct supervision and are engaging in therapeutic exercise

**We understand that there are some exceptions based on medical conditions, and other factors, as listed on page 10 of the Governor's order. If you have a medical condition that warrants consideration with regards to the order, please discuss with your physical therapist.**

This new order will take place on July 31st at 5 PM. This is mandatory and non-negotiable across the state of Maryland. I ask that you comply with this new order and that you make it as easy and uneventful for my team as possible. They have done an exceptional job since the pandemic hit and it is my job to ensure that they have a safe and enjoyable work environment. I will not provide a workplace that is anything less than the best for them, or for you, our valued client.

We have always set out to provide you with a world class health care experience and do not intend to deviate from that mission. I have no doubt that despite these new considerations for the interactions between our four walls, that we will be able to meet and exceed your expectations when it comes to the service and outcomes provided.

If you have any questions about this new order moving forward, I would be open to the conversation.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this letter from me, and I can't thank you enough for choosing R2P.

Perform For Life,

Dr. Josh Funk
