Farmer Carry

The Farmers Carry involves carrying weight for a set period of time or distance and requires increased grip strength/endurance, upper body strength, and increased cardiovascular conditioning.

A performance benchmark for individuals is to carry 75% of their body weight for 90 seconds without placing the weight down. This may be performed with dumbbells or a trap bar depending on available equipment.

This movement is important for those working in more labor intensive positions, weight lifters, cross fit, and a variety of other athletes as deficits in grip strength/endurance could contribute to a variety of upper body injuries and conditions.
