Closed Kinetic Chain Upper Extremity Stability Test

The CKCUEST is used as part of return to sport testing for upper body injuries.

The goal of the test is to complete as many repetitions as possible in 15 seconds. Set up requires placing two cones 3 feet apart. Begin with a hand in front of each cone in a tall plank position (feet narrower than 12 in.). Once the timer starts, touch each hand in an alternating manner as many times as possible in 15 seconds.

This test evaluates an individual’s overall confidence in the arm following injury, the ability to support and stabilize their body weight in a dynamic manner through each arm, and the ability to tolerate impact through the arm.

Normative values are 26 reps for men, and 22 reps for women. How did you Perform?
