Dr. Tyler Betteridge, DPT
Sports Resident / Performance Physical Therapist
Tyler Betteridge was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Upper Dublin, a suburb of Philadelphia. At Upper Dublin High School, he played football all four years and wrestled in his senior year. Here, he was a frequent flyer in the athletic trainer’s office which is what initially sparked his interest in sports medicine. In 2014, he graduated with a B.S. in Pre-medicine, with a minor in Kinesiology, from Penn State University. After graduation, Tyler worked at an outpatient clinic in his hometown as their Exercise Physiologist/Therapy Aide for four years, before deciding to enlist in the Air Force as a member of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard.
In 2019, he graduated from the Air Force’s TACP Apprentice Course, a 9-month training pipeline of rigorous physical and academic training. Visits to the training room were not uncommon during this time, and he gained a new perspective on the role of physical therapists and rehab professionals in athletic settings. This new perspective reinvigorated his drive to go back to school and he later obtained his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Arcadia University in Glenside, PA. He performed his terminal clinical rotations at two outpatient clinics specializing in athlete care, gaining experience working with athletes and active individuals of many different levels and backgrounds.
Tyler has a passion for working with active individuals and helping them build the necessary strength and confidence to return to their pre-injury activities. He strives to make physical therapy an enjoyable experience for all his patients and loves being able to share his passion and knowledge with anyone in his care. In his free time, Tyler enjoys staying active by lifting, running, and participating in local ice hockey leagues. He has a true love of the outdoors and enjoys activities such as hiking, fishing, and camping.
