Performance Physical Therapist

Stephanie Obia-Amauwa

Stephanie is a Montgomery County, MD native as she was born and raised in Silver Spring MD. She has always loved participating in all sports recreationally, but honed in on her Basketball and dancing skills in her high school years as she played Varsity Basketball and danced for Kennedy High Schools POMS dance team throughout high school. Her combined love for the health care profession and active lifestyle (along with a couple ankle injuries) made PT the perfect match for her, as she set her mind up to become a Sports Physical Therapist as soon as she graduated high school.

Stephanie earned her Bachelor’s in Science in Kinesiology at her Home by the Sea, Hampton University. She then came back home to Maryland and obtained her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2024. Stephanie has experience working with people from all walks of life as she had the pleasure of completing one of her clinical rotations at Rehab 2 Perform, Gambrills. During her time there, she fell in love with the unique atmosphere that R2P exhibits, describing it as the best environment to thrive in, solidifying her determination to return to R2P as a Performance Physical Therapist. Stephanie is not only eager to work, but excited to learn as much as she can from this experience!

Outside of her work, Dr.Steph enjoys staying active, whether it be lifting, pilates, or fun activities like aerial yoga occasionally! She is passionate about her family, friends and trying new and adventurous activities. Stephanie believes in fostering a balance of physical, emotional, and mental wellness, and plans on using those factors to help rehabilitate and form a well rounded athlete!
