Jonathan is a native of Virginia Beach, VA, and has always had a passion for sports and healthcare. During his time at Bayside High School he was a member of the Health Sciences Academy and also a 2-time All-State track and field athlete. Following high school, he attended Hampton University in Hampton, VA where he obtained his B.S. in Kinesiology while also proudly serving as the university’s 74th Student Government Association president. Upon completing his undergraduate tenure, he obtained his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. Jonathan was also recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association as a 2023 recipient of the Minority Scholarship Award.
After his academic years, Jonathan continued to expound upon his knowledge by completing his sports residency at VCU. Here, he had the opportunity to work closely within Division 1 Athletics, serve as a teaching assistant within the Physical Therapy program, and provide medical coverage for games, practices and various events in the community. He also spent his time treating within the sports medicine clinic where he received frequent mentorship while seeing athletic and orthopedic populations ranging from youth to the professional athletes, as well as everyday individuals.
Jonathan is excited to transition to the Maryland area and brings a variety of both personal and professional experience having worked closely with individuals from various backgrounds. He lives by the personal motto “I work to improve the well-being of myself and those around me, daily” which drives him to continually create the best outcomes for his patients. In his time outside of the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Kaylah, exercising, trying new restaurants, along with watching and playing sports.
