DR. MATT GIROUX, DPT
Performance Physical Therapist
Matt grew up in Damascus, MD where he attended Damascus High School. He played a variety of sports growing up including basketball, swimming, snowboarding, and even motocross. He swam competitively for almost 20 years and spent numerous years as a swim coach. He then attended Susquehanna University where he earned a B.S. in Allied Health Science. He wanted to return to the DMV area for PT school and that’s what led him to the George Washington University DPT program.
Matt’s passion for coaching, sports medicine, and orthopedics is what fueled his desire to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. Throughout his internships during his PT school career, he found himself mainly drawn to sports rehabilitation. He previously interned with R2P during his undergraduate career as well as a doctoral candidate.
Matt not only has a desire to help people, but he treats with a focus on educating and empowering the patient throughout the process of working to reach their goals. Matt is very excited to be a member of the R2P team and help to make a difference in the Mount Airy community!
