Dr. John Allan Furgeson Jr., DPT

John Allan was born and raised in Damascus, MD where he played football, wrestling, and lacrosse at Damascus High School. He earned his B.A. in Kinesiology from McDaniel College and went on to obtain his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. While at McDaniel, John Allan played quarterback for the football team and was named captain his senior year.

After finishing his athletic career, John Allan discovered a passion for coaching at the high school level. While attending PT school, he began coaching football and wrestling, and he currently serves as an assistant wrestling coach, alongside his dad, at Damascus High School. 

John Allan comes from a family of athletes, with both of his brothers and father competing at the collegiate level. This lifelong connection to sports continues to inspire his approach to physical therapy and performance training.

Outside of work, John Allan spends his time running, lifting, and spending time with his family and fiancè. 

John Allan is dedicated to helping each patient not only recover but also regain confidence in their body’s strength and potential. He believes that empowering patients through education, encouragement, and individualized care is key to lasting success—both in sports and everyday life.
