Dr. Brendan Born, DPT
Performance Physical Therapist
Brendan was born and raised in Ellicott City, MD. He was exposed to a variety of sports at an early age including soccer, basketball, and football. In high school, he played soccer at Archbishop Spalding and soon began to spend long hours in the weight room. On the first day of college at UMBC, he met one of his best friends who would soon teach him to break dance. This was the start of Brendan's journey into different movement practices: dance, capoeira, acrobatics, tai chi, yoga. Today, Brendan finds himself deep diving into the world of running and other endurance sports, while still enjoying time in the weight room with functional resistance training.
Brendan graduated from UMBC in 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and proceeded to work in that field for 5 years. During this time, he yearned to intertwine his passion for fitness with his career and ultimately found himself applying to physical therapy school. He soon earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Today, Brendan is ecstatic to be a physical therapist. He has experience working with a variety of athletes and individuals of all ages and especially loves working with runners. A key component of Brendan's treatment philosophy involves building trust and growing towards a patient's goals together while keeping sessions fun. Activities that get Brendan excited outside of the clinic include training for competitions (marathons, Hyrox races, Spartan races) reading books, and creating content.
