Maddi Vlattas physical therapy

Maddi grew up in Herndon, Virginia, and attended Westfield High School, where she swam competitively at the local, state, and national levels. During high school, she received physical therapy for ongoing back issues, an experience that not only helped her achieve her first nationals cut in swimming, but also inspired her ambition to pursue a career in physical therapy. She continued her swimming career at Dickinson College from 2018 to 2022, earning a degree in Biology with a concentration in Health Sciences.

Maddi returned to Northern Virginia in the fall of 2022 to enroll in Marymount University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program. During her first year, she utilized her fifth year of athletic eligibility to compete on the university’s swim team, earning First-Team and Second-Team honors and contributing to the team’s first Atlantic East Conference Championship title. She also served as a graduate assistant, teaching human anatomy and physiology labs to undergraduate students as an adjunct faculty member. Maddi graduated from Marymount in August 2025.

Maddi has worked with individuals of all ages and activity levels throughout her clinical rotations, but really enjoyed her time working at R2P’s Leesburg location as a student. She is passionate about supporting athletic and active adult populations, guiding them safely back to the activities they love. Drawing on her own experiences with rehabilitation, Maddi is committed to educating and empowering patients, helping them overcome challenges and achieve long-term success.

Outside the clinic, Maddi enjoys coaching swimming for all ages, staying active, spending time with friends and family, and reading good books.
