Why did you decide to enter the field of Physical Therapy?

After being a personal trainer for 8 years I wanted to further my education and extend my ability to help others recovery from an injury. So I decided to pursue physical therapy at the University of Miami to fulfill this need.

What is your background?

My background before entering physical therapy school was in personal training and strength & conditioning. I studied Physical Education at Florida International University. While working on my undergraduate degree I started a mobile personal training company. After completing my undergraduate degree at Florida International I continued to grow and develop my company for 3 years until I sold it before entering physical therapy school at the University of Miami.

What is your specialty/niche when it comes to being a future physical therapist?

As of now Im keeping an open mindset on what setting I would like to work in as a future physical therapist. But since interning at Rehab 2 Perform I have been taking a liking to outpatient orthopedics and sports performance.

What are you most looking forward to joining the Rehab 2 Perform team?

Rehab 2 Perform isn’t your typical outpatient clinic, at first glance, it looks like a strength and conditioning gym. But through their unique setup and approach to physical therapy, can help their clients/patients. Every day I walk into the clinic I look forward to learning from the staff and connecting/helping patients.

What are your plans on trying to engage and connect with the community?

I plan to getting to know all the patients and clients at Rehab 2 Perform and develop a relationship with them to further help them with the rehabilitation process.  Also being born and raised in Miami, Florida I would like to explore Maryland and everything it has to offer.
