Justin Avila, PT, DPT, CSCS
Performance Physical Therapist
Justin is originally from Bellingham, Washington. Growing up he wrestled and played football. Following high school, he spent over ten years in the Navy as a Special Warfare Boat Operator in Virginia Beach, VA.
After medically retiring from the Navy, Justin moved to Nashville, TN to attended Lipscomb University. At Lipscomb, he earned a BS in Kinesiology and a minor in Biology. When he finished his undergraduate degree, he attended physical therapy school at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. As part of his education, he interned at Rehab 2 Perform in Frederick, MD working under our own Dr. Zach Baker. He also did in a clinical internship with EXOS, a world-class training facility and rehabilitation center for elite athletes and special operations military. Justin currently lives in New Market, MD, where he enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and dogs.
Justin is a National Strength and Conditioning Association, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He enjoys blending his love of strength and conditioning with his passion for performance rehab. He feels that intentional movement progression and progressive loading is the best way for his patients and clients to attain their goals.
