Kara Phoubandith is a local product, graduating with high honors from Tuscarora High School. During her four years there she was a dual-sport athlete, playing basketball and lacrosse at the varsity level. Phoubandith played her club lacrosse career with the Frederick Stars Lacrosse Club, winning multiple championships. She was a captain of the varsity women’s lacrosse team her senior year and went on to play at the collegiate level.
Phoubandith, now a Sophomore at Hood College is pursuing an Integrated Marketing Communications B.A. In her first year as a Women’s Lacrosse Blazer she managed 31 points in 8 games as well as a spot on the MAC Conference Spring Honor Roll before a season ending ACL tear.
Phoubandith, now recovered, is the leading scorer for the Blazers 2017 season.
Passionate about lacrosse and her community, she is also a coach for the Renegades Lacrosse Club, assisting both the 2020 and 2024/2025 age groups. She hopes to further her career in coaching upon graduation.
